Megiddo wins von Neumann Theory Prize 2014

Lilien ISMS-MSI Practice Prize was awarded to Martin Natter and Ju-Young Kim, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany and Ana-Marija Ozimec, ENTEGA GmbH & Co. KG, Germany  for their work “ECO: Entega’s Profitable New Customer Acquisition on Online Price Comparison Sites.”

CDC Wins INFORMS Edelman Award, Leading Prize in Analytics, O.R. for Polio Eradication

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which collaborated with Kid Risk, Inc. to use analytics and operations research to combat the remaining pockets of polio around the world, tonight won the 2014 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and the Management Sciences at a banquet sponsored by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) in Boston.

INFORMS Awards Wagner Prize to Israel’s Yedioth Group

Wagner Prize judged by CPMS, the association’s practice section, is Yedioth Group, the Israeli media company, for analysis that reduced the cost of delivering print magazines at a time when the news industry is facing ever increasing competition from the Internet and social media.
