The Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) opened its
doors with its first annual program during 1982-83 and now, tens of
thousands of scientific visits later, is in its 20th year. In
celebration of this event we are holding a two-day conference featuring
overview talks by leading practitioners in fields of mathematics and
applications where the IMA has played a major role. These talks will be
aimed at a broad and diverse mathematical audience.
